There is so much left to discover in this stunning and effortless cool city!  It's quite small but there are so many incredible places to eat and amazing shopping which is not usually something I get into while I away.  I am normally just about the food but this place has it all.  The ultimate weekend city escape!

Vakst

This place was joined onto our hotel so we had breakfast here every morning.  The restaurant itself is completely covered in hanging plants and it's in a brilliant location because you can walk straight into the Vestebro area for either incredible shopping or drinks.  It serves some stunning looking plates of inventive Nordic food.

Fiskebar

This is a favourite place to go for seafood and has appeared on many TV shows with people like Rick Stein talking about it.  Their oysters are incredible with a special sauce of cider vinegar and chopped apple.  I had a standard fish 'n chips because they looked too good not to and they were pretty delicious.  The service is friendly and the interiors are white tiles with banquette seating.  I went for lunch but it's pretty pumping in the evening.

Geist

Geist meaning guest was my favourite restaurant that we went to.  It has everything that I hope for for a Friday night restaurant; perfect service, inventive seasonal food and a buzzing open-plan kitchen.  It had a wonderful atmosphere and you felt the food was new Nordic but at the same time not too fussy and just fun.  The menu changes all the time but if possible look out for the lobster carpaccio with hibiscus yoghurt (pictured) which blew my mind as well as looking beautiful.  You need to book in advance as its extremely popular.

Street Food Market - PapirOen

I don't really know where to start with this market as it is busting to the brim with goodies.  You are definitely spoilt for choice but I wanted to go for the traditional smorrebrod open sandwich which was mouthwatering (pictured).  Delicious pork belly slices with a ton of pickles and mayonnaise.  You can sit outside with your food and also go visit the modern art gallery which is just next-door.
