Morito, Hackney

This is the perfect date place as it offers some delicious sharing plates in a beautiful, buzzing setting on the Hackney Road. This only opened in May and is already making a good name for itself. I loved it from the minute I saw the stunning, blue, Brazilian marble on all the counter tops which instantly makes it quite unforgettable. The service was friendly and it has an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work. The head chef was a lady-even better! It is a sister restaurant to the household Moro restaurant and offers tapas and mezze style food. Everything from delicious hummus, burnt aubergine, buttery green olives, grilled octopus, dakos with fresh cheese, charcoal grilled lamb chop with paprika and anchovy butter. And don't forget to try the peach yogurt ice cream with rose petals:)

There is a cute wine bar on the corner a couple doors down which is also worth checking out pre or post dinner.
