L'Anima, Liverpool Street

This is where I first learnt how to be a chef and it will always hold a very special place in my heart. It is wonderful if you like rustic Italian food in a beautiful city setting. The new head chef is my good friend Lello and he has a killer of a menu lined up with influences from Calabria, Sardinia, Puglia and Sicily. To name just a few; Sardinian fregola with artichokes and ricotta mustia, langoustine and prawn filled ravioli with spicy lobster broth and fresh tagliatelle with broad beans, mint, guanciale and truffles and dessert is another thing all together. The homemade ice cream is where I first became totally obsessed with gelato and everything is made fresh daily. A total dream! I can't recommend this place highly enough from the service to the setting and most importantly to the delicious Italian food. The kitchen is also worth a quick peep in to see the chefs at work.

L'Anima I love you!
